Lunar Pagoda Sketch

referenced Chinese pagoda's for this one.

I've had this idea for a long time, and i finally decided to sketch it up, and I have allot of fun doing so, in the referencing and the creative parts...

I was trying to be respectful and accurate to the cultural inspiration as well, while at the same time taking artistic license where i could to create something different and new from the source.

i remembered how my Cantonese friend would say certain numbers were lucky and others bad, so i tried to follow that in the counting of objects and pieces in the image.

the 'temple' windows depict the lunar cycles as well as the 'islands', and the center island is man-made with a lotus pattern.

I'm sure the perspective is wonky here and there, but at least the sketch captures the ideas i had for the environment.

Hi Anji,

I was searching for some pagoda structure to make one on my own and bumped on your imagination sketch of ideal pagoda structure.. those pathways are amazing..

Saved your pic to my fav folder.

Would one day(someday soon when I could accrue wealth enough to fund it) build the first pagoda temple(looking more simillar to yours) in South India near cape comarin.. There is where I am from; although been roaming around the world for a whilst.

Now I am making a miniature pagoda temple though (4.5'* 2.5'* 8').

Once its complete, will send you a photo. Thanks for sharing your creativity to the world.
